FG signs One-Year performance contracts with Para-Military agencies

The Federal Government has signed one-year performance contracts with key para-military agencies under the Ministry of Interior, urging them to achieve 100% delivery targets tied to ongoing reforms.

The agencies involved include:

  • Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
  • Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
  • Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
  • Federal Fire Service (FFS)
  • National Identity Management Commission (NIMC)

Key reform areas include passport and visa processing, prison decongestion, inmate rehabilitation, critical infrastructure protection, and firefighting system upgrades.

The contracts were signed by heads of NSCDC, NCoS, FFS, and NIMC, while NIS Comptroller-General, Mrs Kemi Nandap, was absent due to official duties abroad.

Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who supervised the signing after a three-day retreat in Suleja, said performance must now move from 85% to 100%, noting, “I asked the Permanent Secretary to give me one reason why I should change a winning team.”
