NAFDAC issues alert on fake gold vision Oxytocin injection

NAFDAC has warned the public against the use of falsified Gold Vision Oxytocin Injection 10IU, which carries a fake registration number and is not listed in its official database.

Key Points:

  • Manufacturer falsely listed: Anhui Hongye Pharmaceutical Co., China.
  • Marketer listed: Gold Vision Medicals, Enugu, Nigeria.
  • Fake NAFDAC Number: A4-9566 (also used on other falsified products).
  • Discovery: Made during a 2023–2025 Post-Marketing Surveillance exercise.
  • Other affected products: A-tocin, Extocin, and Claxitodin injections.

Warning: These injections are unregistered and potentially harmful. Oxytocin is used in labour management and must only be sourced from verified channels.

NAFDAC urges healthcare providers and the public to report suspicious products via its official channels.
