The Federal Government has announced Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday in honour of Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the government congratulated all Muslims and urged them to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, and tolerance.
Citizens were also encouraged to pray for national peace and stability while supporting the government’s efforts towards unity and development.
The statement concluded by urging Nigerians to remain law-abiding and security conscious during the celebration.
