The Osun State Security Network, Amotekun Corps, has captured a notorious kidnap kingpin known as “Bishop”, after a gun battle at his hideout in Isokun, Ilesa, on Saturday evening.
According to Amotekun Commander Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, the suspect, long on the wanted list of multiple security agencies, was arrested alongside an accomplice, while other gang members escaped.
Omoyele revealed that the suspects engaged operatives in a prolonged gun duel but were eventually overpowered using “tactical decoys and superior strategy.”
During the operation, hard drugs and fetish charms used for fortification were recovered.
The commander hailed the arrest as a major win in the fight against kidnapping and violent crime in Osun State, adding that a manhunt is ongoing for the fleeing suspects.
