Comptroller Wale Adenuga has formally taken over as the new Customs Area Controller of the Seme Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Isah Sulaiman.
Adenuga succeeds Dr. Benedict Oramalugo, who was recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General.
In his maiden address, Adenuga praised his predecessor for his accomplishments and assured that he would build on those successes, with a strong focus on enhancing trade facilitation.
Trade facilitation is my watchword. When stakeholders provide accurate declarations, their consignments will be cleared from customs control in the shortest possible time. The more efficiently we facilitate trade, the higher our revenue generation and the lower the incidence of smuggling,” he stated.
He further assured that the command would reinforce collaboration with sister agencies — including the DSS, Nigeria Police, Immigration, NDLEA, Nigerian Military, and NAFDAC — to combat crime and promote a business-friendly environment.
