Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four additional individuals for appointment into the State Executive Council.
This latest round of nominations raises the total number of commissioners appointed and nominated so far to 26.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, who confirmed that the names have been submitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Dr. Jerry Uwangue, FCISM
Dr. Uwangue is the Managing Director and CEO of J&G Engineering and Construction Services Ltd., with over 20 years of experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance (EPCOM) within the oil, gas, and power sectors. He is recognized for driving innovation and business growth in local content development. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (FCISM), recipient of the African Leadership Excellence Award, and an African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassador.
Hon. (Barr.) Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, Ph.D
A seasoned lawyer and public servant, Hon. Ihensekhien has served Edo State in various capacities, including as Minority Leader of the House of Assembly (1999–2003), and as Commissioner for Youth & Sports, Energy & Water Resources, and Agriculture & Natural Resources at different times. He has also held roles as Special Adviser on Project Monitoring, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, and Principal Private Secretary to the APC National Chairman. His academic qualifications include degrees in Philosophy, Law, Political Science, and a Ph.D in International Relations from the University of Benin.
Barr. Usenbo Paul Ehigie
A legal practitioner with more than two decades of experience, Barr. Ehigie has expertise in regulatory compliance, governance, and public policy. He served as General Manager for Regulatory Compliance at FGR Energy Services and was a Senior Legislative Aide at the National Assembly, where he contributed to over 25 bills and motions. He is the Principal Partner at Paul Usenbo & Co., and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
Akhigbe Osi John Sunday
Akhigbe is a technocrat and grassroots development advocate, known for championing youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and civic participation. His commitment to public service and socioeconomic development has earned him recognition for his work in community engagement and governance reform.
The nomination of these four individuals has been transmitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation, as required by law.
