Ten people have been confirmed dead following a boat accident in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State. The victims were reportedly fleeing a looming bandit attack in Zalla Bango village when their boat capsized.
Police spokesperson DSP Ahmed Rufai said the bodies were recovered and buried according to Islamic rites on Friday. Emergency agencies have yet to release an official statement.
