The trial of suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, over alleged cybercrime has been stalled and adjourned to October 20 at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
At the resumed hearing, the defence team led by Ehiogie West-Idahosa (SAN) raised a preliminary objection challenging the court’s jurisdiction, halting the scheduled commencement of the trial.
The senator was arraigned on June 30 on a six-count charge filed by the DPPF, following which she was granted bail. Although the prosecution was ready to proceed, the objection forced another adjournment.
