CJN to inaugurate 57 new SANs as supreme court opens new legal year

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Monday, September 29, officially inaugurate 57 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) as part of events marking the 2025/2026 legal year of the Supreme Court.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold at the main courtroom of the apex court in Abuja.

According to a statement by the Supreme Court’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Festus Akande, the CJN will also deliver a State-of-the-Judiciary address, reviewing the Court’s performance in the 2024/2025 legal year.

Also expected to speak at the special court session are the Attorney General of the Federation, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), among other key stakeholders in the justice sector.
