Professor Mahmood Yakubu has officially handed over leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to May Agbamuche, who will now serve as the Acting National Chairman of the electoral body.
The handover was announced on Tuesday during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
Agbamuche, currently the oldest serving National Commissioner, will lead the Commission in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive chairman by President Bola Tinubu, subject to Senate confirmation.
