Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Nnaji, has resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet following allegations of certificate forgery and controversies surrounding his academic records.
Appointed in August 2023, Nnaji submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday, citing political blackmail and thanking the President for the opportunity to serve.
Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga confirmed the resignation, stating that President Tinubu has accepted it and wished Nnaji well in his future endeavours.
The resignation follows weeks of controversy, including a legal battle involving the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, over the release of Nnaji’s academic records, which he attempted to block.
