Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen swears in three new reps members

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, on Tuesday officially swore in three newly elected lawmakers following their victories in the August 16, 2025 bye-elections.

The new members were elected to fill some of the five vacant seats created after the deaths of four lawmakers and the elevation of Dennis Idahosa as the running mate in the 2024 Edo governorship race.

The House had lost Hon. Ekene Adams (Kaduna), Isa Dogonyaro (Jigawa), Olaide Akinremi (Oyo), and Oriyomi Onanuga (Ogun) to illness between 2024 and 2025.

INEC conducted bye-elections across the affected constituencies in August to fill the seats.
