The Presidency has confirmed that Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, is recovering well, following speculation about his health.
Chief Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, shared the update Monday evening via his verified X handle, @SundayDareSD.
“Just got off the phone with Finance Minister Wale Edun in Abuja. Over a bowl of Amala, we chatted briefly, and he assured me he’s getting better. I wished him continued recovery,” Dare posted.
His comments come amid rumours and misinformation over the weekend regarding Edun’s condition. Presidency sources clarified that while the Minister is indisposed, he did not suffer a stroke or seek treatment abroad.
Edun is reportedly resting at home in Abuja and remains in communication with colleagues, maintaining a role in the ongoing economic reform efforts of the Tinubu administration.
