The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities through a two-day cash support programme held on October 13 and 14, 2025, at its headquarters.
Representing LASODA’s General Manager, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the agency’s Head of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Hezekiah Akinbule, stated that the initiative reflects Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to ensuring that no group is left behind.
“Each beneficiary will receive ₦100,000,” Akinbule said. “This may not solve every problem, but it shows that the government sees you, values you, and is here to support you.”
Beneficiaries from various disability groups, including visually and physically impaired individuals, were empowered during the event. Symbolic cheque presentations were made for documentation and media purposes.
Akinbule praised the recipients for their resilience and encouraged them to use the funds to improve their livelihoods. He also reaffirmed LASODA’s commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunity for all.
The initiative aligns with LASODA’s mandate under the Lagos State Special People’s Law to create an inclusive society where persons with disabilities can thrive and contribute to the state’s growth.
