President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a formal letter to the Senate, requesting the confirmation of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Dr. Doro’s nomination comes in the wake of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda’s election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Prior to his new role, Yilwatda served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community development in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He holds academic qualifications in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA with a focus on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. He is also certified as an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner, with extensive hands-on experience in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) across urgent care centres, walk-in clinics, general practice, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional career, Dr. Doro is known for his involvement in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives, both within the Nigerian diaspora and local communities.
