Osimhen scores twice as Galatasaray beat Bodø/Glimt 3–1 in Champions League

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen netted a brace to lead Galatasaray to a 3–1 win over Bodø/Glimt in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles forward opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, firing a right-footed shot past Mario Lemina into the bottom corner. He doubled the lead half an hour later, capitalising on a defensive blunder by Fredrik Bjørkan.

The Turkish champions went into the break 2–0 up, and Yunus Akgün extended their advantage in the 60th minute after the restart. Andreas Helmersen pulled one back for Bodø/Glimt in the 74th minute, but it proved only a consolation.

Osimhen’s performance comes shortly after his hat-trick for Nigeria in their 4–0 victory over Benin Republic during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, highlighting his current fine form for both club and country.

Elsewhere, Barcelona returned to winning ways with a 6–1 thrashing of Olympiacos on Tuesday. Fermin Lopez scored a hat-trick, while Marcus Rashford added a brace and Lamine Yamal also found the net as the Catalan giants bounced back from their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Playing without key stars Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, coach Hansi Flick’s side climbed to third in their group — a morale boost ahead of their El Clásico showdown with Real Madrid this weekend.
