The Senate will on Wednesday screen the newly appointed Service Chiefs nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for confirmation.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this after reading the President’s letter forwarding the nominees to the upper chamber.
The nominees include:
General Olufemi Oluyede – Chief of Defence Staff
Major-General Waheedi Shaibu – Chief of Army Staff
Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke – Chief of Air Staff
Rear Admiral Idi Abbas – Chief of Naval Staff
According to the Presidency, the appointments are part of a strategic realignment aimed at deepening professionalism, boosting morale, and enhancing inter-agency coordination in national security operations.
