Arsenal extended their advantage at the top of the Premier League to seven points with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday, while Nottingham Forest held Manchester United to a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Mikel Arteta’s side, now firm favourites to end their 20-year title drought, secured their fifth consecutive league win and ninth in all competitions.
Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres opened the scoring with a header from a Declan Rice corner — his first league goal since mid-September — before Rice added a second in the 35th minute to seal the result at Turf Moor.
The Gunners once again showcased their defensive strength, maintaining their record of conceding just three goals in 10 league matches this season.
At the City Ground, Casemiro’s first-half strike appeared to have put United on course for a fourth straight league win under Ruben Amorim, but Forest fought back to claim a deserved draw.
Arteta praised his side’s composure and resilience, describing the win as “another step forward” in their pursuit of the Premier League crown.
