BREAKING: China Warns US Against Interference in Nigeria’s Internal Affairs

The Chinese government has declared its firm support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning against any external interference in Nigeria’s domestic affairs following U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed Beijing’s stance, describing Nigeria as a “comprehensive strategic partner.”

“China firmly supports the Tinubu administration as it leads its people on the development path suited to its national conditions,” Mao said.

She added that China strongly opposes any attempt by another country to use religion or human rights as a pretext to meddle in another nation’s internal matters or to threaten it with sanctions or military force.

Mao was responding to questions about Trump’s recent comments, in which he threatened possible U.S. military intervention in Nigeria over alleged persecution of Christians.
