The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at strengthening professionalism and accountability within the agency.
In a notice published on Tuesday, the secret police cautioned members of the public against conducting any official business with the dismissed officers, warning that they no longer represent the Service.
“As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services (DSS), the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement read. “Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the Service.”
The DSS also published the names and photographs of the affected personnel on its official website. The dismissals reportedly occurred between 2024 and 2025, covering various ranks and departments.
The move follows a series of disciplinary actions in recent months. In October, the DSS arrested two dismissed officers — Barry Donald and Victor Godwin — for allegedly impersonating the agency to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
The Service reiterated its commitment to maintaining integrity within its ranks and urged Nigerians to verify the identities of DSS operatives before any official engagement.
