President Tinubu nominates Kingsley Ude from Enugu State as Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from Enugu State, as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The President’s request for Ude’s screening and confirmation was contained in a letter read on the Senate floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary.

The nomination has been referred to the Committee of the Whole for further consideration and screening.

Dr. Ude, who currently serves as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, was recently conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

His nomination follows the resignation of Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, who stepped down last month amid controversy surrounding his academic and NYSC credentials. Nnaji’s exit left Enugu State without ministerial representation in the Tinubu administration.
