The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, winner of the Anambra State Governorship Election held on Saturday.
Soludo, the incumbent governor, defeated 15 other candidates with a commanding lead across the 21 local government areas of the state.
According to results announced by INEC, Soludo recorded widespread victories, maintaining a significant margin ahead of his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The election, conducted in 5,720 polling units, saw APGA consolidate its stronghold in both rural and urban areas as Soludo swept most of the major voting centres.
At the end of collation, Soludo secured a total of 422,664 votes, while Ukachukwu polled 99,445 votes, placing second.
With this result, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has been re-elected to steer the affairs of Anambra State for another four years, pending any legal challenges.
