President Tinubu: Soludo’s Re-Election, an Affirmation of Visionary Leadership

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a testament to his visionary and result-driven leadership.

The President noted that Soludo’s overwhelming victory in Saturday’s governorship election makes him the third governor in Anambra’s political history to secure a second term in office.

He also commended the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring the peaceful and credible conduct of the polls.

President Tinubu said:

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress Anambra State has made under his guidance.
Governor Soludo, the Solution, has shown that knowledge is power, and that academic principles can effectively drive governance anchored on accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.”

The President recalled his visit to Anambra State in May 2025, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, commending the governor’s foresight and innovation in governance.

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under him, Anambra is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” President Tinubu stated.

He urged Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to work with his opponents for the continued peace and development of the state.

President Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with the Anambra State Government to sustain ongoing development initiatives.

“The victory of the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) again demonstrates the vitality of Nigeria’s democracy and shows that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can neither be encumbered nor denied,” he added.

The President further commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers have described as a credible election. He urged the commission to continue improving on its performance to further strengthen the nation’s electoral system.
