The Governor of Lagos State and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, is set to deliver a lecture in commemoration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary at the Arewa House, Kaduna, on Tuesday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who will serve as the Guest Speaker, is expected to present a lecture titled “65 Years of Nigeria’s Independence: A Journey So Far with the Renewed Hope Agenda in View.” The event is a one-day public lecture organized by the Arewa Think Tank, a northern socio-political and policy advocacy organization comprising professionals from the 19 northern states.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, while the event will be chaired by former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim Pius, and co-chaired by the Madakin Zazzau, Mallam Mohammed Munir Ja’afaru.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, will play host as the Chief Host, while the Royal Father of the Day is the Emir of Birnin Gwari, His Royal Highness, Malam Zubair Jibril Maigwari II.
Distinguished dignitaries expected at the event include former Osun State Governor and pioneer APC Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba; former Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero; and former Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai (rtd), who will all serve as Special Guests.
Also expected are members of the Federal Executive Council, including H.E. Mohammed Badaru (Minister of Defence), Dr. Dele Alake (Minister of Solid Minerals), Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Minister of Interior), Mohammed Idris (Minister of Information and National Orientation), and Senator Abubakar Kyari (Minister of Agriculture and Food Security), alongside other prominent personalities, northern leaders, and captains of industry.
