Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Convention Planning Committee, Ahmadu Fintiri, has confirmed that the party will proceed to Ibadan for its upcoming elective convention.
Fintiri made the announcement during a brief chat with journalists on Thursday night after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro.
The meeting was attended by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, former Minister of Special Duties Tanimu Turaki, and other top party figures.
Speaking to reporters, a visibly upbeat Fintiri said, “We’ve just concluded a crucial stakeholders’ meeting where major decisions were made. I can confirm that we are heading to Ibadan for our convention, and the date remains unchanged.”
Attempts to get further clarification on the party’s internal issues were unsuccessful, as his security aides moved him away immediately after the briefing.
