FULL LIST: Osimhen Makes Final Shortlist for CAF Player of the Year

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been named among the final three contenders for the CAF Player of the Year award, as released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday evening.

Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasaray, is the reigning winner of the award after clinching the prestigious honour in 2023. The Nigerian forward will compete against two other African stars—Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool) and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain)—for the continent’s top individual football prize.

The award was last won by a Nigerian in 2024, when Ademola Lookman took home the crown.

Ajibade Makes Women’s Final Shortlist

In the women’s category, Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade has also been shortlisted for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.
She will compete with Moroccan stars Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy for the honour.
