President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of gallant officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Armed Forces who paid the supreme price while confronting terrorists in active combat.
In a statement issued today, the President said:
“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes.”
President Tinubu also strongly condemned the heartless abduction of innocent schoolgirls by terrorists in Kebbi State, describing the attack as an assault on the future of the nation.“
I am also depressed that heartless terrorists have disrupted the education of innocent schoolgirls. I have directed the security agencies to act swiftly and bring the girls back to Kebbi State,” the President stated.
Reaffirming his administration’s resolve to protect lives and property, President Tinubu warned that those who threaten the safety and security of Nigerian citizens will face the full weight of the Nigerian state.
The President assured the nation that every necessary measure is being taken to rescue the abducted girls unharmed and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
