President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visits to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, as he awaits further security briefings on the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the attack on worshippers at the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.
Responding to a request from the Kwara State Governor, the President directed the immediate deployment of additional security personnel to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area. He also ordered the police to pursue and apprehend the bandits responsible for the attack.
President Tinubu had been expected to depart Abuja today for the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in South Africa, before proceeding to Angola for the 7th AU–EU Summit.
