The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of six real estate workers in Oyebola village, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.
The victims, all marketers from a Lagos-based real estate firm, were reportedly kidnapped on Friday during an inspection visit to a land site.
Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said the command had launched a full-scale manhunt to rescue the victims and apprehend the abductors.
According to the CP, the workers were taken away shortly after arriving in the area to assess the land they were expected to promote to prospective buyers.
Ogunlowo said:
“They brought some marketers from Lagos to come and see the land, so they can have the requisite information to market it to interested members of the public. It was during this visit that six of them were abducted.
The incident happened on Friday, and the command has been on it since. We will definitely ensure that these people regain their freedom.”
Security operatives, including tactical teams, have reportedly been deployed as investigations continue.
