The Federal Government has strengthened Nigeria’s bilateral relations with Thailand following a strategic shuttle diplomacy visit to Bangkok by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
During the visit, Minister Tuggar met with his Thai counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, for high-level discussions aimed at expanding cooperation across critical sectors such as trade, energy, agriculture, ICT, defence, education, and BRICS-related engagements. He emphasized that active global engagement and deliberate diplomatic outreach remain central to Nigeria’s foreign policy direction.
Both ministers also explored the establishment of a Nigeria–Thailand Joint Commission, which will serve as a formal platform to deepen bilateral collaboration, enhance economic partnerships, and unlock new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
The visit marks a significant step forward in advancing Nigeria’s global presence and strengthening ties with strategic international partners.
