Abuja, December 15, 2025 — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the special guest of honour at a commemorative book unveiling held at the State House Banquet Hall, celebrating the life and enduring legacy of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on July 13, 2025, in London at age 82.
The event drew prominent figures, including Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, as attendees reflected on Buhari’s remarkable career—from military head of state (1983–1985) to democratically elected president (2015–2023).
Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s former digital communications aide, described the occasion as a heartfelt tribute to “a family and legacy that influenced generations,” emphasizing the former president’s personal integrity and national impact.
Buhari’s tenure is widely recognized for vigorous anti-corruption campaigns and significant infrastructure projects, though it also faced criticism over economic and security challenges.
The book unveiling highlights ongoing national efforts to honour Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s political history, providing a platform for leaders and citizens alike to reflect on his service and lasting influence on the country.
