The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State, and Chaplain of the Aso Rock Villa Chapel, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and optimistic about the country’s economic future, declaring that Nigeria is on the brink of a new dawn.
In his Christmas message, Bishop Adegbite said recent developments show that the nation is gradually emerging from its economic challenges, following difficult but necessary reforms aimed at repositioning the economy.
“Looking back at the challenges of the past few years and the tough but necessary reforms introduced to reposition the nation, one can confidently say that Nigeria is very much on the brink of a new dawn, considering the remarkable progress recorded so far,” he said.
He added that the signs of improvement provide reasonable and objective optimism, stressing that the sacrifices made by Nigerians have not been in vain.
“What we are witnessing today gives room to trust the process. It is important that Nigerians remain patient and hopeful,” Adegbite noted.
The CAN leader also called on Christians to demonstrate love, compassion, and generosity during the Christmas season.
“Christians must be intentional about giving and sharing, no matter how little, to bring joy into other people’s lives and homes. This is the true essence of Christmas,” he said.
Bishop Adegbite further emphasized the need for national unity, reassuring Nigerians that better days lie ahead.
He also disclosed that Nigerians currently on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, as well as those preparing to embark on the journey, are offering prayers for sustained economic recovery, national progress, and stability, assuring President Bola Tinubu and the nation of continued spiritual support.
