President Bola Tinubu has departed Lagos for Europe, according to the Presidency.
This was disclosed on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Onanuga said the President will continue his end-of-year holiday in Europe ahead of an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
He explained that President Tinubu was invited by the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026), scheduled to hold in early January.
ADSW is a weeklong global summit that brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to shape the future of sustainable development.
The 2026 edition, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on linking ambition with action across innovation, finance, and human capital, while highlighting pathways for global progress.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the summit.
