The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast predominantly sunny and cloudy weather conditions across the country from Monday, December 29, to Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
NiMet released the three-day weather outlook on Sunday in Abuja, noting that most parts of the country will experience fair weather with occasional cloud cover.
According to the agency, the central region is expected to record sunny conditions with a few cloud patches in the morning, while the afternoon and evening hours will remain largely sunny with intermittent cloudiness.
In the southern region, NiMet projected sunny skies mixed with cloud cover, alongside isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall in some areas. Morning showers are expected over parts of Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, southern Ondo, and southern Edo states. By the afternoon, isolated thunderstorms with light rain may occur in parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Imo, Abia, and Anambra states.
For the northern region, the agency said sunny weather will prevail in the morning and continue through the afternoon and evening.
NiMet advised motorists to exercise caution due to possible reduced visibility and slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall. It also urged the public to plan outdoor activities and travel in line with prevailing weather conditions.
Airline operators were encouraged to obtain regular weather updates from NiMet to ensure safe and efficient flight operations.
