Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has provided an update on the Oluremi @65 Education Fund, announcing that as of December 31, 2025, a total sum of ₦25,520,708,074.35 has been donated to the initiative.
The update was contained in a statement in which the First Lady expressed appreciation to Nigerians, as well as family members, friends, and well-wishers, for their generous contributions to the fund, which was established in commemoration of her 65th birthday to support the construction of the National Library.
She noted that the overwhelming support reflects a shared national commitment to education, the preservation of knowledge, and sustainable national development, adding that she is deeply encouraged by the goodwill, unity, and sense of collective purpose the initiative has inspired.
Senator Tinubu also announced that the donation account for the Oluremi @65 Education Fund will be officially closed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She explained that the project is being implemented under the supervision of the Honourable Minister of Education and stated that any further support towards the initiative should be directed through the Ministry of Education.
The First Lady reaffirmed her belief in education as a cornerstone of national progress and thanked Nigerians for their trust and support in advancing the shared vision of strengthening the country’s educational infrastructure.
