President Trump Claims ‘Framework for Future Deal’ on Greenland After Davos Meeting

US President Donald Trump has announced that he has “formed the framework of a future deal” regarding Greenland, following a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Davos, Switzerland. He described the agreement as “infinite” but did not provide further details. Trump also indicated that new tariffs on European nations opposing his ambitions would no longer be necessary.

Speaking at Davos, the president ruled out military action to acquire the semiautonomous Danish territory while reiterating his demand for control over the island. He criticized European nations, describing Denmark as “ungrateful” for refusing to cede Greenland, and suggested that a financial transaction for the territory could be possible.

The remarks mark the latest development in Trump’s controversial and widely discussed interest in Greenland, which has drawn international attention and debate over the strategic and economic implications of the island.
