Multiple accidents occurred on Otedola Bridge, inward Secretariat, involving three heavy-duty vehicles and causing major traffic disruption on the corridor.
The incidents involved two trucks conveying sand and granite, which spilled their contents on the roadway, occupying about 80 percent of the carriageway. In addition, a trailer transporting flour overturned and also spilled its load on the road.
Emergency responders, including officers on the ground and rescue teams from Oshodi, LASAMBUS, LASEMA, the Nigeria Police from Alausa, and the Fire Service, were immediately deployed to manage the situation and carry out rescue and clearance operations.
As a result of the accidents, traffic congestion has extended as far back as Kara Bridge inward Secretariat. Efforts are ongoing to clear the affected vehicles and debris and restore normal traffic flow.
