President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday held a meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The visit, which took place at Aso Rock, was made public by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who shared photographs of the President and the monarch engaged in a warm discussion on X.
Although details of the meeting with President Tinubu were not disclosed at the time of reporting, it was gathered that the Olubadan had earlier, on Thursday, met with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
During that earlier engagement, Akume reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing the long-standing ecological challenges confronting Ibadan, particularly recurring flooding.
Speaking on behalf of the Federal Government, Akume praised the Olubadan for his leadership and personal intervention in seeking urgent solutions to the ecological crisis affecting his domain. He described Ibadan as a peaceful and accommodating city that reflects Nigeria’s diversity and noted its significant contribution to national development.
Akume also commended Oba Ladoja’s dedication to public service, recalling his role as a former senator and businessman committed to improving the welfare of his people, while assuring him of continued government support and goodwill.
