The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong rebuttal to growing media speculation regarding the possible replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima as running mate to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. The party categorically denied these rumors, calling them “purely speculative, untrue, and utterly baseless.”
The statement also warned media outlets against spreading unfounded rumors, emphasizing the responsibility of the press to avoid giving airtime to unreliable sources that may seek to stir division and confusion within the polity.
Highlighting the ongoing legal restrictions on political activities, the APC stressed that their current focus remains on supporting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima’s administration, particularly the implementation of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” aimed at transforming the economy and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
The party further urged its ministers, senior government officials, and party members to avoid fueling these speculations, emphasizing that their priority should be diligent service to the nation and to the party’s broader goals under President Tinubu’s leadership.
This official stance was signed by Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary.
