NNPC Ltd has congratulated Chevron Nigeria Ltd after the successful completion of the Awodi-07 exploration well in the western Niger Delta. The well, drilled between late November and mid-December 2025, confirmed significant hydrocarbon presence across multiple zones.
This discovery strengthens the NNPC Ltd/CNL Joint Venture, which aims to increase oil production to 146,000 barrels/day. The project aligns with Nigeria’s energy security goals and highlights the success of sector reforms under the Petroleum Industry Act.
NNPC’s leadership praised Chevron for its performance, reinforcing the strategic importance of responsible oil exploration and the partnership’s potential for future development.
