Tinubu condoles Super Eagles Captain Ndidi over Father’s death

President Bola Tinubu has expressed heartfelt condolences to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following the tragic passing of his father, Sunday Ndidi.

Sunday Ndidi, who tragically lost his life in a road accident in Umunede, near Agbor, Delta State, on Tuesday, was mourned by his son, the Nigerian international footballer currently playing for Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas.

In a condolence message released by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu extended his sympathy to the Ndidi family, stating: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic death of Sunday Ndidi. I share in the grief of his family, friends, and associates, particularly Wilfred Ndidi, who shared a strong bond with his father as a mentor and guide in his remarkable career as an exceptional footballer.”

The president also highlighted the profound impact Sunday Ndidi had on those around him, noting his humble beginnings and honesty. “There is no doubt that Sunday’s modest beginnings and honesty greatly impacted those who looked up to him for inspiration,” Tinubu said.

The president concluded by praying for divine comfort for the grieving family and for the eternal repose of Sunday Ndidi’s soul.
