The National Industrial Court, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Subilim, has issued an interim order restraining the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and three other parties from engaging in any strike or protest.
The ruling followed an ex-parte application filed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the FCT Administration, citing violations of a previous court order and the planned mobilization for a mass protest on February 3, 2026.
The court also directed security agencies to maintain law and order and prevent any potential disruption. The matter has been adjourned to February 10, 2026, for further hearing.
The unions had previously instructed striking workers to resume industrial action, citing an appeal against the court’s earlier interlocutory ruling.
