There appears to be a pause in the political tension in Rivers State as President Bola Tinubu held a meeting on Sunday night with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and other state leaders at Aso Rock.
Details of the meeting remain scarce, but a source told The Nation that following the discussion, Governor Fubara accompanied Wike to his residence in Guzape, Abuja.
According to the source, Fubara reportedly pleaded with the minister, assuring him of respect and a commitment not to undermine him again.
The meeting comes amid ongoing political maneuvering in Rivers State, with observers suggesting it may signal a temporary truce between the state’s key political figures.
