President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated players of Nigerian descent who played key roles in the Seattle Seahawks’ victory at Super Bowl 60, held on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California.
The Seahawks delivered a dominant performance, defeating the New England Patriots 29–13 to secure their second Lombardi Trophy.
Among the standout players of Nigerian heritage who contributed to the historic win are Jalen Oluwaseun Milroe, quarterback; Nick Emmanwori, a defensive standout; Uchenna Nwosu, veteran linebacker; Boye Maye, linebacker; and Olu Oluwatimi, a formidable offensive lineman.
President Tinubu also extended congratulations to Michael Onwenu, a Nigerian-American player for the New England Patriots, widely regarded as one of the league’s most dominant offensive linemen.
The President commended all the players for the pride and honour they have brought to Nigeria, particularly Emmanwori, Nwosu, and Maye, who proudly raised the Nigerian flag following the Seahawks’ Super Bowl triumph.
According to President Tinubu, their achievements further affirm Nigeria’s global reputation for excellence, resilience, and sporting talent.
He wished the players continued success and greater accomplishments in their professional careers.
