Seplat Energy Plc, a joint venture partner of NNPC Ltd and a major gas supplier to the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC) pipeline network, has announced scheduled routine maintenance of its gas production facilities from February 12 to 15, 2026.
According to NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, the maintenance is part of standard safety and asset integrity procedures designed to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safe operation of critical gas infrastructure.
Periodic maintenance is essential to sustain optimal system performance, improve operational resilience, and minimize the risk of unplanned outages.
During the four-day exercise, gas supply to the NGIC pipeline network will be temporarily reduced. As a result, some power generation companies dependent on this supply may experience lower gas availability, which could slightly affect electricity generation during the period.
“NNPC Ltd and Seplat Energy are working closely to ensure the maintenance is completed safely and on schedule. Meanwhile, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) is engaging alternative gas suppliers to bridge potential supply gaps and maintain network stability,” the statement said.
Once the maintenance is completed, full gas supply to the NGIC system is expected to resume promptly, allowing affected power generation companies to return to normal operations.
