The Lagos State Government, through the Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO), has convened Chief Executive Officers of parastatals, agencies, and government-owned companies for its Year 2026 Strategic Retreat themed “Charting the Future: Bold Leadership for Resilient Institutions.”
The two-day retreat, held from February 12 to 13, 2026, at Novotel Hotel Lekki, provides a high-level platform for reflection, strategic recalibration, and forward-looking dialogue focused on strengthening leadership and institutional resilience across the state’s public sector.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, underscored the critical role of effective leadership in shaping the future of Lagos State institutions. He emphasized that resilient institutions are built on strong systems, accountability, and adaptive strategies capable of responding to evolving challenges.
In his welcome address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring, Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, described the retreat as more than a routine gathering. According to him, it represents a strategic opportunity to reinforce governance standards, enhance inter-agency collaboration, and improve performance outcomes across the public sector.
A major highlight of the retreat was a thought-provoking session delivered by Princess Adenike Adedoyin-Ajayi, a retired Permanent Secretary and leadership expert. Speaking on the theme “Leadership and Resilience for Navigating the New World of Work,” she encouraged leaders to move beyond merely “bouncing back” from challenges to “leaping forward” through adaptive capacity and innovative thinking.
The retreat continues with plenary sessions and knowledge-sharing engagements aimed at deepening accountability, promoting transparency, and advancing results-driven governance in alignment with the State’s development vision for a Greater Lagos.
