The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have announced that physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of Constables will commence on March 9, 2026.
Spokesperson for the PSC, Mr. Torty Kalu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja. He said the nationwide screening exercise will run from March 9 to April 18, 2026.
According to Kalu, applicants who completed the online registration are required to log into the recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their status and print the required documents. These documents must be presented at the screening venue on the date and time indicated on the invitation slip.
The required documents include:
- Guarantors form
- Application submission slip
- Invitation slip
- Credentials screening form
- Physical screening form
Applicants are also expected to present:
- Original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or NIMC card
- O’ Level (GCE/SSCE) certificate
- Birth certificate or declaration of age
- Local Government/State of Origin certificate
- Trade test certificate (for specialist applicants only)
- Completed and signed guarantors form with photocopies and passport photographs of referees attached
Kalu added that both original and duplicate copies of credentials must be neatly packaged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.
He further stated that applicants must appear at the screening venues dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings.
The screening will take place at designated centres in each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as indicated on the invitation slip.
The PSC emphasized that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge and carries no financial obligation.
Chairman of the PSC, Mr. Hashimu Argungu, assured applicants that the process would be conducted with transparency and accountability. He also warned candidates to beware of online scammers and impostors seeking to exploit the recruitment process, stressing that anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities would be arrested and prosecuted.
