Nigeria has voiced strong concern over the escalating tensions in the Gulf region, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and embrace dialogue to prevent further deterioration that could threaten both regional and global stability.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the government stressed the importance of respecting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law. It called on all sides to prioritize peaceful and diplomatic solutions.
Nigeria also appealed for caution in the use of force, emphasizing the need to protect civilian lives and adhere strictly to the principles of the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions.
Reaffirming its longstanding commitment to non-alignment, multilateral cooperation, and constructive engagement, Nigeria expressed support for renewed diplomatic initiatives within recognized international and regional frameworks to resolve the crisis.
The Federal Government further pledged solidarity with the global community in pursuing sustainable peace built on dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international norms.
