Real Madrid missed the chance to close the gap on La Liga leaders FC Barcelona after a stunning strike from Martin Satriano handed Getafe a shock win at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Satriano’s breathtaking first-half volley flew into the top corner beyond Thibaut Courtois, condemning Madrid to a second consecutive league defeat. The result leaves Los Blancos four points behind Barcelona after 26 matches.
Madrid were again without Kylian Mbappé, who continues to battle a knee ligament injury. Despite dominating possession, the hosts struggled to break down a resolute Getafe defence marshalled by goalkeeper David Soria.
Vinícius Júnior squandered a clear chance before Satriano’s opener, while second-half efforts from Antonio Rüdiger, Rodrygo, and Dani Carvajal failed to find the net.
Coach Álvaro Arbeloa introduced early substitutions after the break, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, but Madrid could not find an equaliser.
The night worsened late on when Franco Mastantuono was sent off for abusive language toward referee Alejandro Muñiz Ruiz. Getafe’s Adrián Liso also saw red for a second booking in stoppage time.
Madrid now turn their attention to Friday’s clash against RC Celta de Vigo as they seek to halt their slide and reignite their title challenge.
