The Senate has rejected the 2026 budget proposal of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), describing the presentation as “scanty” and “clumsy.”
Lawmakers expressed dissatisfaction with the level of detail provided in the proposal, noting that the submission failed to adequately justify projected expenditures and revenue targets. They directed the commission to rework and resubmit a more comprehensive and properly structured document.
The Senate stressed the need for transparency, accountability, and clarity in budget presentations by government agencies, insisting that all proposals must align with fiscal responsibility standards and legislative expectations.
Officials of the CAC were asked to address the observed gaps and return with a revised submission that clearly outlines performance metrics, spending breakdowns, and projected outcomes for the 2026 fiscal year.
